DNS and ICMP Allowed? Both ICMP and DNS work, but I don't see them in the log and worse I don't even want them to work. What's wrong?
Answer If DNS and ICMP are working and you do not expect them to, check the settings in the Rulebase or Global Properties screen. By default:
- DNS is accepted and not logged before the first rule in your rulebase.
- ICMP is accepted and not logged before the last rule in your rulebase. This means if you have rules blocking it before your last rule in your rulebase, they will apply.
These can be set to your tastes (or disabled entirely).
