Default Service Numbers Instead of Names

Service Numbers Instead of Names
If you see a service listed as a number in the logs, it is either:

Not defined as a service in FireWall-1 Not defined in your local services file

Services not defined in either place will be shown as numbers in the logs. There are several places you can look for information about what service uses what ports:

Keep in mind: Programs can use any variety of ports, even those officially registered to a different program. For example, you could run a telnet daemon on the port typically used for FTP.
