| FireWall-1 and IPX By default, most UNIX system does NOT come with an IPX network protocol stack (though NT does). Without such protocol stack, a system will not process or forward IPX (non-encapsulated) traffic. That is true whether or not FireWall-1 is installed. If an IPX network protocol stack is installed on a FireWall-1 system, then IPX would pass unhindered as FireWall-1 does not inspect IPX traffic. -- GuyR - 18 Jan 2004 FAQForm FAQs.Class: ServicesFAQs FAQs.OS: FAQs.Version: |
