Default Re: Migrate Endpoint Security Console Management

I tried to migrate the Endpoint Security Console Management from one server to a new one with the same hardware, OS, IP Address, Name, the OS is Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition.

I installed the new Server and copy all CheckPoint Endpoint folders and files from the old Console to the new one, but when I tried to connect to the new console I received a SIC error.

Who knows how to migrate the Endpoint Security Console Management?

Thanks in advance,
Best regards,
Mario Jaramillo.

The short answer:
1.From the CLI cd %CPDIR% & then cd bin
2.Run the command: Cpprod_util SetCertPath “c:\program files\checkpoint\CPShared\R65\conf\Sic_cert.p12” you should get a return of 0.

The long answer:

1.If an CPES server exists on the recovery machine, wipe out the installation by START >All Programs >Check Point Endpoint Security Server > Uninstall Endpoint Security Server
2.Do a fresh install with identical IP address and host name of the backed-up machine.
3.Reboot the machine.
4.Copy the Upgrade_export <filename>.tgz file to C:\windows\fw1\R65\fw1\bin\upgrade_tools
5.From the command line of the Upgrade_tools directory run: Upgrade_import <file name>
6.From the command line run: CPStop
7.Rename the EndpointSecurityServer directory
8.Copy the backed-up installation directory to the same installation path C:\Program Files\CheckPoint\EndpointSecurityServer\
9.Bring any Active CPES servers to Standby. Endpoints will continue to get the Corp policy since the Standby acts as a beacon.
10.Reboot the Restored machine. This should also start the EPS server processes along with other Check Point processes.
11.From the CLI cd %CPDIR% & then cd bin
12.Run the command: Cpprod_util SetCertPath “c:\program files\checkpoint\CPShared\R65\conf\Sic_cert.p12” you should get a return of 0.

Thanks, I tried it and it works very good, but I just copied the database files not all Endpoint folder and the command Cpprod_util SetCertPath and upgrade_export file.

Thank you, have a nice day.

Best regards,
Mario Jaramillo.
