Hi For the life of me i cant remember how to get QOS install (Floodgate). I have attached the license, CPTC-QOS-5-NGX. But i dont get the options in New Policy for QOS? Do i have to run a install again on the SmartCenter to get QOS? Thanks!

In NGX Floodgate is a part of CPvpn package, I think. So you don't need to install again CP on SmartCenter. Check module's General Properties -> Check Point Products -> QoS. And try to run floodgate by command "etmstart".

In a distributed environment i take it the licensing for Floodgate / QOS is licensing to SmartCenter (local)? On the enforcement modules the QOS option is greyed out! I ran etmstart and got FloodGate-1 is inactive, please rum etmstart ........ I am trying this on my SmartCenter not on my enforcement modules Last edited by soundsfuzzy; 2007-01-22 at 19:51.

Lifting this one because i have the same problem now. Just added the QOS licens "central" , but the QOS box on the modules are grey, and no etmstart, or fgate commands are aviable neither on the mngt server or the modules. * anyone out there got some step by step notes to get QoS aviable. ? /Geir

Have you attached the license to the relevant module? Also, when in doubt, you can always run "cpstat" locally on a box. There are several options that will tell you the status of all the modules, so you can check if FG-1 is running or not.

but no sign of etmstat on the modules , and no fq-1 running. |

How did you get a central license? I could only set it to local? Product CPXP-QOS-5-NG FloodGate-1 Add-on for VPN-1 Express for 5 sites up to 500 users SKU Feature: CPTC-QOS-5-NGX My license shows up as Web Qos Central Management License for 5 QoS sites Last edited by soundsfuzzy; 2007-02-01 at 14:16.

*BUT* more likely to be my problem, from the "IndividualInstallation.PDF" page 7-9 Solaris 1 Download fg1_R55_<Build_Num>_Solaris.tgz to a temporary directory and extract the files. 2 Run the pkgadd command, giving the CPfg1-R55 directory as an argument: pkgadd –d . CPfg1-R55 So now i search for the CPfg1.... files matching HFA16 /Geir |

Finaly I got it running ; Step 1; Installed CPfg1-50 on both modules and managment, followed instructions to run cpconfig, and reboot Step 2 ; Click the Qos Tab on the modules (in SmartDashBoard) Step 3 ; Licens's had to be "local" Step 4 ; "Add Policy to Package (Qos ) " /G

Where did you get Installed CPfg1-50 from? I though Floodgate was included in NGX without any additional installations? As i am running Crossbeam (Linux) on the enforcement modules, i need to find the Linux version! Well done on getting working! Checkpoint are still looking at the license for me!!!!!
