| All, When connecting a Nokia firewall with the console port to the AUX port of a Cisco router to be able to remotely access this Firewall make sure that your AUX config comtains the line 'no exec' as this will otherwise cause the firewall to end up in bootmanager during a reboot. Another problem that can occur when this has not been applied, is that the port is in use. Rationale behind it: when a Cisco router recieves a CR on the AUX port it will send a Username prompt to the port, with timeouts etc it will, at the time the firewall is at the point 'Press any key to enter the Bootmanager' send another prompt to the firewall, dropping it into Bootmanager. How to use it: log in to the router using the ip address with the AUX linenumber +2000 To find the line number for the AUX login and type 'show line' sample: telnet 10.10.10.10 2001 AUX port is line 1 on all x8xx type routers x7xx and x6xx all have a dependency on the number of NM's that can be put in. __________________ Regards, Maarten.
