Default Nokia 390 Platform Vs UTM-1

What are the major differences / benifits between Nokia Platform 390 and UTM-1 2070 appliance?

Does anyone have exact comparison between the two platforms?

And what is the benifit of UTM-1 regarding the Checkpoint licence / price ?

If you know Nokia maybe stick with Nokia.
If starting out fresh with Check Point then the UTM-1 appliances are better.

UTM-1 2070 comes with the Check Point license already and they are aimed by Check Point at being more cost effective then the equivalent Nokia's.

On the UTM-1 2070 then there is a single vendor,

Hardware = Check Point
OS = Check Point
Application = CHeck Point.

On the IP390

hardware = Nokia
OS = Nokia
Application = Nokia can pass to Check Point if necessary.

My personal preference is if the customer already has Nokia's and knows the Nokia then go with Nokia. If new to Check Point put on Check Point appliances as more cost effective and only one vendor to deal with for them.

UTMs are specially made by Crossbeam for Checkpoint. If you parse the dmesg you will see traces of Crossbeam drivers.

Otherwise, everything else is exactly the same as SPLAT.
