| Hi All, I need your help in this wierd problem. My IP710 /VAR is out od space. Last week i got an alert thru the voyager that says [LOG_ALERT] syslogd: out of disk space. I did df -i and got the following: Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Avail Capacity Mounted on /dev/wd0f 596823 82891 466187 15% / /dev/wd0a 32996 29 30328 0% /config /dev/wd0d 29375777 27616276 -590561 102% /var /dev/wd0e 4997283 230182 4367319 5% /opt procfs 4 4 0 100% /proc Sorry if it's not clear but you can notice that /var is totally out of space! Now I digged down and found that this is (mostly) because of the file fw.core which resides in temp folder. After ls -al i got the following output: -rw------- 1 root wheel 27344896 May 18 11:39 fw.core -rw------- 1 root wheel 11771904 May 18 12:20 vpn.core After consulting Checkpoint, I was trying to delete the file using rm -f (i'm the root user). the file shows deleted (because when i search for it i dont find it!) but the disk utilization is the same!! I tried deleting the file in this way: cpstop rm -f fw.core cpstart reboot But also no luck! On top of that, after a while, i can see the file back again but newly created (you can see that the time of creation is recent whereas the origional file was created in 2005). Something is recreating the file but i dont know what!! The system is still working fine (except the alerts) but i dont know till when!! Thanks in advance |

| You may need to reboot and run 'fsck' in single user mode, have a look at the link below, Out of disk space.. |
