| What are the security levels on the Safe@/Nokia IP30? You may choose between three levels of security: "Low", "Medium" and "High". This is accomplished by logging into the IP30 and selecting Security > Firewall and adjusting the "scroll bar" to the appropriate level. The following descrive what these levels do. Low allows all outbound traffic, Inbound traffic is blocked except for ICMP echo requests (i.e. pings). Medium allows all outbound traffic except for Windows file sharing. (NBT ports 137, 138, 139 and 445). All inbound traffic is blocked. High restricts outbound traffic to Web (HTTP, HTTPS), Email (IMAP, POP3, SMTP), ftp, NNTP, Telnet, DNS, IKE, 2746 UDP and 256 TCP traffic out. All inbound traffic is blocked. -- PhoneBoy - 01 Jan 2004 FAQForm FAQs.Class: FAQs.OS: OsSafeAt FAQs.Version: |
