Default Dead Environment / IP650

Hi Everyone.

As is often the way, i've got a bit of a prolem, with a nicely anchient Nokia IP650. It's decided that it no-longer has any environment variables or path statemetns anywhere, making life a bit tricky for us. When the appliance boots, it claims to have logged to /var/log/fw.log, though nothing appears, possibly because fw_log_dir is not set?

It's possible, after a reboot, to manually add FWDIR / FRBIN / FWCONF to the admin environment, set the path manually, etc... then a simple fw stop -> fw start loads the relevant policy.

However, once that policy is in and working, it's impossible to manage the firewall. Policy editor when loaded only shows the standard 'empty' policy (which was kinda scary to see btw!).

We are running version 4.1 by teh way, with an old-ish version of IPSO.

I'm presuming these 2 problems are caused by each other, to soem degree. IS anyone aware of ways to fix / resolve this issue?

Thanks in advance for your time.

Martin

Default Re: Dead Environment / IP650

The only way I know of to fix this would be to reinstall CP.
