Hi, I was just wondering if anyone had installed any of the Hot Fix Accumulators onto this diskless platform before? At present this platform is not in the live environment as when I attempted to apply HFA-02 it caused the Nokia system to fail. I think this may have been because I copied and ran the .tgz file in the wrong location on the Nokia's flash ROM. Can anyone give me some basic advice or guide to applying the HFA-03, as the Release Notes that come with the HFA-03 itself are somewhat lacking. (There is a section and specific HFA download relating to install of the HFA on a Nokia IP265 diskless system, would this be the same install/method for the IP385?) Cheers, John

I've just built up a Nokia560 which is also diskless. I installed r60 then copied the hotfix tgz to /var/admin. tar -zxvf Comp* un tarred it all. In the resulting VPN-1 directory there is another file that now needs un-taring. The end result was a file called fw1.........(rest of file name escapes me). I then ran this program using ./fw1* and the hotfix got applied fine

Cheers Paul, I think the problem I had was due to me un-tarring the TGZ file in the wrong location, namely:- /preserve/var/emhome/admin I will give your suggestion a go and see what happens. Many thanks, John

Boonsa , I have the same problem with HFA03 : Install IPSO 3.9 Build 45 OK Install CP R60 : OK Install HFA03 : faild There is an HFA specific for IP265 but not for IP385. Do You solve your problem? Thank you. regards Thomas

Hi Thomas, The solution to the problem is to untar the HFA-03 tgz file in the /var/admin subfolder, NOT in the /preserve/var/emhome/admin folder, as this has a limited size on the IP385. Good luck, John

John Thank you for your reply, We have enough space for installing the HFA. We delete tgz file after untar and before installation. Could you explain me, what is your installation procedure? Do you use voyager web interface to install package? What are the names of packages you installed? thank you best regards Thomas

Hi Thomas, I have to admit the release notes that come with the HFA-03 are somewhat limited in explanation. Basically I uncompressed all the files on my Windows desktop first, into a folder. I then copied the fw1_HOTFIX_R60_03_591603015_6 file from the uncompressed folder: \IPSO\VPN-1 onto the Nokia using FTP (or in my case SFTP using a SSH client). The fw1_HOTFIX_R60_03_591603015_6 file was placed in the /var/admin folder. Using the Nokia CLI, I ran the update using the command: ./fw1_HOTFIX_R60_03_591603015_6 Hope this helps, John
