| Secure Platform Doesn't Support Proxy-ARP Contributed by BenSmith Published in geeklog Thursday, June 26 2003 @ 12:57 PM EST Published in oldfaq 2003-Jan-15 03:00 hugoDOTvanDOTderDOTkooijATqiDOTnl SecurePlatform FP3 does not support Proxy-ARP! It is in the top 10 of the Feature Requests but at present it is now known wether or not it will be part of FP4. Just the NG Automatic ARP feature is not supported, but you can overcome this situation with the following steps: Add the following command to the startup-script (eg. rc.local): echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/conf/if_name/proxy_arp ...where if_name is the name of the external interface, for example: eth0 Add a static host route with the sysconfig utility: route add -host Static_NAT_ip_addr gateway _internal_ip_addr_ -- RayLodato - 07 Jan 2004 FAQForm FAQs.Class: NetworkAddressTranslationFAQs FAQs.OS: FAQs.Version: |
