Default Same Src/Dst Port

I have a VPN set up and have a service that crosses my firewalls that uses the same source/destination port for a UDP service. This port is used also as a destination for another client service with a randomly generated source port but to the same destination. The randomly generated udp service nevery has a problem communicating. The service with same source/dest has issues moving across the vpn. Any thoughts here?
