Default Out of Swap ?

Hi, on FP2, besides upgrading, what else can I do about this?

fwm_exec_command: failed to fork: Not enough space

What seems to happen is that the box has enough MB and swap available, but problem is still occuring.

Any advise?

I've done the swap file fix, but it looks like it is still happening.

What OS is on the appliance?

Do you have enough disk space in the correct partition?

Hi there.

Just to inform anybody else who ever finds themselves with the same problem that I have found a solution.

Initially when the policy fails to compile and brings up this message, the root disk space is probably at 100% or your swap space is full, etc. But even after dropping it, it still continues to fail with the same error.

It appears as if the FWM service on the management station occassionally gets itself in a knot when this happens. Then, regardless of how much disk space, memory or swap space you free up, it will keep saying that you have insufficient space.

Here's the resolution: Once you have ensured that there is sufficient disk space, swap space and memory, simply stop and start the FWM service on the management station. This solves the problem without impacting the availability of the firewall itself.

Hope this helps the next person who comes across this thread looking for a solution.
