Default Essential Check Point FireWall-1

Essential Check Point FireWall-1

Get a PDF version of the front cover by clicking on this link: cover.pdf (2.6 M) Available now in the US at amazon.com or wherever technical books are sold. Available worldwide from amazon.co.uk and elsewhere.

My book explains how to build, implement, and maintain Check Point FireWall-1 4.1 and earlier. It's packed with tools, tricks, tips, and checklists not found anywhere else, including on phoneboy.com itself. Every major feature of FireWall-1 is covered. Filled with screen shots and sample configurations, the book features step-by-step instructions that can be replicated easily on standard equipment. Developed through years of product support experience, this book is an invaluable resource for FireWall-1 administrators working on Unix, NT, or Nokia platforms.

Not convinced yet? Take a look at the Table of Contents toc.pdf (167.8 K) and a sample chapter sample.pdf (1.1 M) . A PDF viewer of some sort will be required.

Since I can't fix what's printed on dead trees, see the the Errata page. for any errors. You can report any new ones by adding text to the Errata page.

I also would like to point out a few books I think are worth getting:
  • Know Your Enemy: Revealing the Security Tools, Tactics, and Motives of the Blackhat Community by The Honeynet Project (purchase from amazon.com, amazon.co.uk)
  • SSH , the Secure Shell : The Definitive Guide by Daniel J. Barrett and Richard Silverman (purchase from amazon.com, amazon.co.uk)
  • Securing Windows NT/2000 Servers for the Internet by Stefan Norberg and Deborah Russell (purchase from amazon.com, amazon.co.uk)
  • Firewalls and Internet Security: Repelling the Wily Hacker by William R. Cheswick and Steven M. Bellovin (purchase from amazon.com, amazon.co.uk)

Disclaimer: The links to amazon.com and amazon.co.uk are special links. I get a percentage of the selling price if you purchase anything thru these links, so please purchase through the links. :-)
