Default Splitting Management from Nokia and Upgrade

I have Standalone on nokia Ipso 3.9 with R55 with no dedicated smartcenter server. I need to add a new gateway at a seperate site (also Nokia) and manage both centrally.

I am guessing that I should split the smartcenter management out to a dedicated server, and then upgrade the gateway and server to R60(A) and then eventually add the second gateway.

I have read just about all the CP docs on both R60 and R55 but cannot seem to get myself a roadmap together to achivieve this for a Nokia platform. All the docs seem to refer to the other platforms.

I would be really grateful if someone could give me some pointers on where I should be starting/looking to get where I need to go.

Thanks in advance

Default Re: Splitting Management from Nokia and Upgrade

sandgrownun,
for me the best is:
Start with a new installation ( R55 ) on a dedicated server for the new smartcenter ( new name/IP) .
After you have to export/import ( with cp_merge cmmands) the policy/objects of the standalone.
Then you have to reconfigure the module to becomes only a gateway ;delete the old standalone firewall object ; recreate it and restabilish the SIC ;install the policy.
After this you can add others gateway without problems.....
