Default FTP Disconnection

I have a FTP server running on the Solaris Server in DMZee and I am using Windows client to upload files. Frequently the connection is getting disconnected with the below error message.
reason: tried to open a known service port, protocol:tcp port_svc:1214

I am using NG FP3.

What is the reason behind it?

Thanks

This is a default SmartDefense setting getting in the way. I do not remember where it is, though. In the IP settings or somewhere near the top.

There are three radio button selections as I recall. The default is to not allow a connection to a known service port. Change it to allow the connections and install the policy.

Any service you have defined in the SmartCenter becomes a "known service port" which is why it is now a bad default setting. This is a pretty common issue.

I am using NG FP3, and I have the follwoing options under SmartDefense.
Smart Defense-FTP-FTP Security Server
1. Allowed FTP Commands
2. Prevent Known Ports Checking
3. Prevent Port Overflow Checking

I have selected Prevent Known Ports Checking option, but still I am facing the same problem.

Well I would start by moving to a version that is still supported. I haven't found the problem after NG FP3.
