| I have a FTP server running on the Solaris Server in DMZee and I am using Windows client to upload files. Frequently the connection is getting disconnected with the below error message. reason: tried to open a known service port, protocol:tcp port_svc:1214 I am using NG FP3. What is the reason behind it? Thanks Last edited by avilT; 2008-03-14 at 05:32. |

| This is a default SmartDefense setting getting in the way. I do not remember where it is, though. In the IP settings or somewhere near the top. There are three radio button selections as I recall. The default is to not allow a connection to a known service port. Change it to allow the connections and install the policy. Any service you have defined in the SmartCenter becomes a "known service port" which is why it is now a bad default setting. This is a pretty common issue. Ray |
