Default Encryption Error Message from LAN

We have a situation where we have a 100.x network and a recently new 10.x network after a company merger. We also have in place a VPN Tunnel that connects to another company over a 10.x network that was formed some time ago. Now when our merged company (10.x) network tries to go out via Checkpoint we get the message "Encryptio Failure: Received in Cleartext packet with an encrypted connection". I am just confirming what this is due to the VPN in place and not a config. issue elsewhere in Checkpoint?

Thanks

Sure sounds like it.
You'll need to use NAT inside the VPN tunnel and add the 10.x to you VPN-1's topology in the correct place.

Its a VPN configuration problem, you're receiving traffic from 10.x which the gateway expects to be encrypted (most likely because it thinks it came across a tunnel) and is dropping the traffic because its not encrypted. You'll need to correct your VPN domains for the remote gateways.
