Checkpoint and SMTP Load Balancing

Is it possible to load balance smtp with checkpoint. If so do you do it the same way as you would HTTP?

Yes I want to set up to smtp servers, and when the mail hits the firewall I want to set up load balancing such as you can do with http.

I would imagine any simple single-port TCP based protocol would work. We tried DNS, but it didn't work - I assume because it's UDP. The Checkpoint documentation is very light in this area.

Why not just test it and see, and let us all know what you find :)

Checkpoint version is addon load balancer module called ConnectControl.

However, cheaper alternative is to use LVS on linux for that.

Just ignore the gentoo specific stuff. and just follow instruction on SMTP port 25 and set up config for your SMTP servers.
