Checkpoint Firewall-1 NG & Websense

I'm having an issue with a Nokia Checkpoint Firewall-1 NG and Websense 5.5 Enterprise.

Every time I turn on the Websense filtering rule, internet speed grinds to a halt. Everything I've found points to increasing the number of HTTP security servers....but I'm not running any HTTP security servers.

I increased the HTTP cache to 32768 and turned off LOG on the Websense rule and things rans at normal speed....for about a half hour, then it ground to a halt again.

Anyone have any ideas why this would work initially and then slow down again?

what's the rule in your firewall that cross checks with websense?


also, please post the preferences to the URI resource of blocked sites; ie, are you running it transparent, proxy?

You are using HTTP Security servers is your rule has a resource in it.
