Default cpstop;cpstart?

is cpstop;cpstart the correct syntax to run that command and do both duties at once?

I believe in some cases Check Point recommends NOT using cprestart. So yes, cpstop;cpstart would be sufficient.

You can't use cprestart on ClusterXL gateway members. Better stay with cpstop;cpstart all the time.

ok a stupid question. I know running 'cpstop' stops all checkpoint services. However when I run this, it says it is stopping FW-1 - Is this stopping the actual firewall or just the VPN service?

cpstop stops all of the check point services all the way down to the SVN foundation, so yes it stops all Check Point services that are active on that box

ah ok, its just that I was told on the checkpoint course that running this command would only stop gui services not the running of the firewall.
