Default Memory Leak ?

Hello All,

I have a standalone gateway module running SPLAT HFA04 with 2 gig RAM.

SmartMonitor indicates it appears to be leaking memory. Everyday it shows it has less free memory (approx 100k a day). Lately I have had to power down (due to UPS maintenance is server room) when it comes back up I have almost all 2 gig free and then it starts going down again.

Any ideas anyone (it is running VPN for SecureClient but no site to sites. Smartdefence and Web Inteligence is running).

By the way anyone have any views on upgrading to NGXR65 and scanning HTTP for malicious code ?. Good enough ? or should I look at something else, my budget is likely to be the value of a coffee and a cream cake, that's why I'm looking at R65

Cheers,

G

This is normal. Free memory will be used for IO buffers, so the longer a SPLAT system is up, the less memory appears free. When needed by other processes, the IO buffer memory gets scrubbed and reassigned to the requesting process.

You should see this with most *NIX OSes.

With that budget, R65 is well worth a look.
It works well enough for most people (Including the Payment Card Industry). I would just turn the protections on slowly as some of them can really hurt performance
