Default SmartDefense - WebIntel and HTTPS

Hi All,

HTTPS is secure so when a client does https to a web site do smart defense and web intelligence work ?.

Does it apply to only non-encrypted traffic.

Thanks,

George

It will only inspect the non-encrypted part of the headers and the general format. To do more, as you imply, the gateway needs to terminate the SSL and inspect it before it passes it on, which Check Point currently doesn't do. I have heard about an add on PCI card that will let you do this but I have no details.
