Default Multiple fw.exe processes

Multiple fw.exe processes

When running FireWall-1 4.1 and earlier, having multiple instances of fw.exe running on NT is perfectly normal. Each one of these fw.exe processes corresponds to a process that FireWall-1 uses in user space. On Unix (or using NG on Windows), you would see processes like 'fwm', 'fwd', 'in.ahttpd'. You would also notice that the binaries for these programs are symbolically linked to 'fw'. NT does not have such a construct, so everything has to run as 'fw.exe.' The problem is, you don't know which instance corresponds to which process, though the contents of the %FWDIR%\*.pid files might give you a hint.
