Default Monitoring Firewalls

Hi ppl

i am trying to build some kind of system where i can monitor the FW machines (R62).

Equipped with dell's 2650, as i read somewhere on some forum there is a limitation to read snmp msg's (hardware from a 3rd party software (eg opennms) ... anyone encountered this?

Also, can any kind of messages (snmp) and syslog be redirected to a seperate server?

thanks

SNMP works OK. Apparently some Gigabit interfaces have issues, but otherwise things seem OK.

It's just standard net-snmp and syslog packages underneath it, so you can manipulate them the same as you would with any other Linux system.

What do you mean by "redirect snmp messages to a different machine"?

Are you referring to setting SNMP trap destinations? Read the SPLAT documentation - it's all in there.
