Block Streaming Video - Checkpoint R55 On the checkpoint we want to block anything related to streaming music. A lot of employees are eating up our internet bandwidth. Smart Defense has a Peer to Peer filter that I enabled for a day and it works very well. There is one thing though. Our city website is hosted on one of our servers and has streaming video that happens to be .WMV (windows media format), and the firewall is blocking that as well. Does anyone know of a good way to allow the webserver, while blocking the internal clients? I thought about filtering the destination port that most streaming radio stations use, but not all of them use default port settings. Another thing is that most streaming links end with *.asx, could a smart defense peer to peer rule be added to block anything that ends with that? If it can, what would the header value look like? I have checked with our tech support and they say that a software update to NGX will allow us to do this. This is something we will be doing in three months but in the mean time is there any way to do this with R55? Any help would be greatly appreciated. |
