| Hi everybody, please somebody can explain me the difference between SecureXL and Performance Pack? Need SecureXL/Perf.Pack an additional HW (TurboCard?) or License to be used? Has somebody experience with this technology? If yes with which VPN-1 release? Every feedback will be appreciate. Thanks, Maurizio |

| I think that SecureXL is technology. And also it's the name of license. "SecureXL enables Wire-Speed VPN with SecureXL technology and multi-CPU licenses through software based acceleration." Performance Pack - software module which is licensed by SecureXL license. "The Performance Pack for VPN-1 and FireWall-1 is a software-based acceleration module designed to offer organizations incredible security performance with off-the-shelf hardware. It takes advantage of Check Point's SecureXL API to optimize how security functions are handled at both the processor level and network interface level." And about hardware card. "VPN-1 Accelerator Card III Wire-Speed VPNs are enabled by high performance encryption acceleration for 3DES IPSec/IKE VPN-1 deployments. Requires a licensed copy of 3DES VPN-1 Pro. Also offloads CPU for IKE session setup and SSL processing. Requires an available PCI slot on the Gateway Server. The VPN Accelerator Card III can achieve up to 400Mbps IPSec-3DES performance." All quotes from CP site. |
