Default Connection to firewall drops on policy install

I'm running CP FW-1 NG-FP3 on RedHat Linux 7.3 (2.4.9 kernel).

I had to make some changes to my network and now I can't install a policy from the Windows GUI client.

When I try to install a policy, it verifies OK and then hangs and I have to click Abort to cancel the operation.

I logged into the firewall using SSH and tried doing a cpstop/cpstart. When it gets to the point where it installs the default policy, the same thing happens. The shell hangs and I have to kill the connection. If I log directly into the console, I can do a cpstop/cpstart just fine and the default policy installs.

I'm presuming that I've made a change to my network that is interfering somewhow with the connection from my desktop to the firewall during policy install.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can troubleshoot this? Alternatively, is there a way to install a policy from the Linux command line rather than using the Windows GUI? That way I could at least synchronise what I see in SmartDashBoard with the actual policy that is installed.

Thanks,
David Witham
