I just purchased a 1050 ts3. that having been said, I am now getting an error that my antispam is not licensed. Does anyone know if this is included in the TS license? I would assume it, but maybe I am wrong. Also, is this is total security, is antispyware included? Anyone know?

It's supposed to be - if you've registered your product and Service Contract in the UserCenter, AND updated your contract information via SmartUpdate, then call CP Account Services and talk to someone about this.

TS includes Anti-spam, Anti-Virus, Content Filtering and SmartDefense. If you updates are not working correctly please call the support number for your area and select "Account Services" to have this issues corrected. There are still some issues with usercenter from what I hear, but account services can kick your account and life is good.

Sigh...Oh for the days where you just bought an "Enterprise Encryption Center" and you got everything... |

Eval keys don't allow the spam features to work i'm afraid. I've been chasing our SE for weeks to get the right entitlement which I think is something to do with the new-fangled service contracts file? It will be licensed similarly to smart defence, in that the entitlement is associated with the user centre account and not an actual licence as such. (disclaimer: i could be totally wrong :) )

According to product management, licensing and account services a CPMP-EVAL-NGX license WILL activate messaging security and its updates. I have had this work for several customers. If it is not working for you contact account services or your SE. If they say it doesn't work, tell them to contact the UTM-1 product manager.

Chillyjim, my understanding from the Channel Managers and Sales Operations people is that 30-day service contracts need to be established in addition to the license. The people it has worked for have had at least one account that they are members of that has the subscription. Without that, it doesn't work. My last information on this was last Thursday. To test, create yourself a brand new usercenter account, drop an eval license in it, and use that license for the updates. Do not use your main account, to be certain. Can you confirm if you've heard something more recent than this? R.

May 28 2008 update (From the weekend). OK folks, the word is Check Point has the usercenter fixed such that the CPMP-NGX-EVAL will now allow SMDF & AV updates and access to the Messaging Security. All of the licensing & royalty issues have been solved and the back end code fixed (Hopefully this time it will really work. MIS says it will and not just product management). So if you want to try these, please contact your Check Point reseller and/or sales team. Note I do not think the 15 day plug-and-play license will work with thses but I'm not sure.

Hi Jim, The 15-day trial used to work, it's good news to hear that the 30-day eval works properly now (about bloody time!!!!). I'll try and gen a license and test this weekend and report back on this.
