Default Issues in our Primary Management server

Dear Fellow members,

We are running Checkpoint NGX R65 management server in HA mode. Both are geographically distributed, reachable via our WAN connectivity. There are some 17 modules ( Checkpoint NGX R65 & Nortel Alteon boxes ( 51xx)) and 10 Edge boxes that are being under these. Edge boxes are configured as interoperable devices.

we are facing two below issues which are hampering our productivity :-

1) Now issue is that whenever we create/modify any new object on primary mgmt server, it takes 4~5 minutes and dashboard hangs.

2) Atleast 4~5 times a day, dashboard throws error that could not able to connect to primary ICA server ( couldn't recall excat error msg... sitting @ home right now), wherein we have to do cprestart to be able to work on primary mgmt server. In Smartview monitor it shows " Error" under status colums.

So to overcome we used to do cprestart, Synchronize both mgmt boxes, switch to secondary mgmt server, do all the requisite work, then sync with primary and then switch to primary. This is how we are managing since past couple of months.

Our both mgmt servers are at NGX R65, HFA 02 & HF_602.

Any help/pointers will be highly appreciated. Will add more to it tommorrow. We do have enterprise support too with Checkpoint, but again there is also one interesting side too... not able to open ticket via web... have to do it via our local CCSP, though for few of our products it shows we do have Enterprise support.

Tried previously couple of times, but in vain.

Regards,
-=KIK=-

I would start by checking disk space and if you have a lot of old revisions delete some of them.

After that I would check network layer issues.

As for the CCSP/Direct support thing, it all depends on how you purchased support. If you find your CCSP isn't responding, find out who your Check Point sales team is and let them know.

We experience this as well on our single instance R65 Management Server. Usually if we wait 2-4 minutes it returns to normal, but it would be nice to find and resolve the issue.
