Default 'No Peers'

Hi,

I am trying to build a secondary management server and I am experiencing some difficulty. I have followed the guide in the Checkpoint documentation but when I get to the point when I want to manually force replication I get the following error after clicking the Management High Availablility menu:

"Failed to recieve current status. Reason: 'No Peers'"

I definately have SIC established between the primary and the secondary and have successfully tested the SIC status. I have also noticed that the secondary does not appear in SmartUpdate or SmartMonitor.

Anyone have any ideas?

You can delete the object and try again after a Sic reset. if that does not work reinstall on splat.

Hi Routerkid1. Thanks for your response.

I have already tried deleting the object and resetting SIC.

The management servers are running on Win2k3, not SPLAT.

A couple of things that might be worth trying.

1) Just wondering if it might be something to do with licensing - does your secondary management server have a valid license installed.

2) Something that has tripped me up in the past. - When you etsablish SIC on a Secondary Management Server it is important that you select "Secondary SmartCenter Server" check box (General Tab of the Management Server object) BEFORE you set SIC using the communication button otherwise Management HA SIC does not establish correctly.

Thanks for your input coldark.

I have come in on Monday to take another look at the problem and it has strangely progressed somewhat without me actually doing anything. Now I can see my management servers when I go into Management High Availability and I can see there is a licensing issue with the secondary server. At least I know what I am troubleshooting now! I think I need to spend some time getting my head around SmartUpdate.

I had the same symtoms once because the secondary SmartCenter Server did not yet have the same HFA level as the primary SmartCenter Server. I upgraded it to the same level and then it worked fine.
