Nokia VRRP

I have configured a Nokia VRRP and needed a quick test to see if it was working. A continuous ping to the VIP would fail from a workstation whenever the master node was restarted. If I tried to ping from another workstation that was not doing the continous ping it could reach the VIP. The VRRP monitor seemed to indicate everything was working fine. I am guessing something with arp cache at the workstation or switch but is this something anyone else has seen. Is there something in the VRRP configuration that addresses this.
