You have the right cd, so no problems there. One thing that I have found with Check Point Linux is that is tested on very specific kernel releases and patches etc. I would double check the release notes for Linux as to what kernel and patches that Check Point is expecting. I take it that you are just running the cd from within RHEL3 at the terminal screen and mounting the cd etc. The license bit comes up you get to the bottom and press Y to agree and it hangs there

hi mcnallym, Yes u r right , i am mounting it from RHEL3, and i am running a script on it named "./UnixInstallScript", and on the license screen when i press y it hangs, the kernel version is 2.4.21-15.EL. Please help me to solve this problem and tell on which kernel i should install it. Waiting for your reply.

Not going to be much help I am afraid as I don't install on RHEL3 myself. Is there a particular reason to RHEL3 rather then SPLAT. SPLAT is based on RHEL3 in it's current release so unless there are specific things that you need to RHEL3 then I would go with SPLAT. As I don't stray from the Check Point HCL and don't add additional tools/drivers then I don't need to move from SPLAT. I just went with what I have found on older versions with Linux. I would check the release notes to see if that mentions the kernel and patches, as it has done in the past. Failing that I would speak with your Check Point reseller to get them to find out if no one else here can help. There have been other people on here installing on RHEL3 so they maybe able to help you.

Are you sure you are running Redhat EL3. I have Redhat ES 3 and it runs fine on mine, vmware may I add. According to my Redhat ES3, this is what I have: [root@Linux-lab root]# uname -a Linux Linux-lab 2.4.21-4.EL #1 Fri Oct 3 18:13:58 EDT 2003 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux [root@Linux-lab root]# more /proc/version Linux version 2.4.21-4.EL (bhcompile@daffy.perf.redhat.com) (gcc version 3.2.3 20030502 (Red Hat Linux 3.2.3-20)) #1 Fri Oct 3 18:13:58 EDT 2003 [root@Linux-lab root]# I have no issues installing Provider-1 NGx R62 or SmartCenter R62 on this Linux box. I noticed the kernel you have on your is different than mine.
