| Has anyone heard about CP multi-CORE user licensing? For example, if you installed SPLAT on a HP server with dual-core processors, the cost of the user license will likely double since the server has dual core processors. Thanks, |

| Hi Super_Q, the multi core support is just a technology to use the additional CPU performance for your firewall. Here a short statement from Check Point on this: "...VPN-1 Power Multi-core builds on the latest multi-core technologies available in servers and appliances to accelerate SmartDefense™ intrusion prevention. This enables the heightening of an organization’s security profile by turning on the needed protections while maintaining the performance levels that business leaders demand." Here the link for the whole *.pfd to clarify any questions left: http://www.checkpoint.com/products/d..._datasheet.pdf Ok, aside from the marketing stuff, i really dont get the real benefit for any installation i know atm. As always, if you think you need it, you are going to buy it...i guess *smile* Cheers vivid |
