Default Check Point's License - Online IP move

Hi all,

I just wonder, do I need to pay if I want to reset back my account after I have change an IP tied to the license? I have changed it more than 5 times and it does not allow me to change again. If I'm renewing my subscription, does it reset my account? Thanks.

Regards,

Alex

You have to request CP to allow you to make another change to the IP details. They may charge you for this or they may not depending on your relationship.

You may move your license if your Software Subscription is current.

Thanks, but what do you mean "move the license" if my subscription is current? Do you refer to online IP move for that particular license or...? Anyway, if I'm renewing my software subscription does it also resetting the online IP move's count?

Thanks again.

AFAIK as long as your SS is current, you are entitled to change the IP addresses. If the UC won't let you and SS is current, call TAC and they should be able to move it.

Thanks, I had move the IP more than 5 times and now I'm unable to move it again and my SS is still current. If I renew my SS next time, would it reset the move IP count? If not, inn this case I have to call Check Point.

Yeah support should be able to move it for you.

Why is your IP address changing so often?

Or a trick that I use is move it to an internal IP address that you arn't using (in a range that you arn't using). Add that IP address to the loopback of the device and voila, you shouldn't have a problem of moving IP's.

There is a answer in UserCener FAQ:
Right Upper Conner > Help > Accounts and products > How to resolve error: "Move Count Exceeded" in the Check Point User Center
https://secureknowledge.us.checkpoin....do?id=sk22440

Using loopback is a nice trick. But some time earlier there was a much mode restrictions about interfaces and addresses. (example Crypto only was possible on interfaces with a licensed addresses)

Hi, I'm not sure what does it mean "Add that IP address to the loopback of the device"! What do you mean loopback here? Is it the loopback address 127.0.0.1?

Windows > Control Panel > Add Hardware > Yes, I have conected New Hardware > Add Other > Add Manually , select Network Adapter, manufacturer Microsoft, Microsoft Loopback adapter.

Set a fancy address for this network connection e.g. 10.20.30.40/32
