Default License Features and initial policy

Hi,

We are in the process of replacing a license on a CheckPoint NGX Firewall and Smart Centre which is installed in a standalone environment. The Product Key for the new license is

CPVP-VCT-U-NG.

The currect license that we have on the firewall has the following features

CPMP-VFF-U-NGX CPVP-VSR-1000-NGX CK
CPVP-VEE-U-3DES-MGMT-NGX CPMP-PRO-U-NGX

Based on the above information, I have the following queries

1- Whats the difference between the features on the licenses ? Is there any information available on how to interpret these license features ?

2- Whats the impact of this license change as I guess the initial policy overwrites the installed Security policy during a license expiration which means a disruption to the service which obvioulsy we want to avoid..Is it possible to apply a new license first and then remove the old one ?

Thanks
Usman

The VCT includes those two products (VFF is the gateway with QoS and the VEE is the management).

Yes you can add the licenses to the SmartCenter and then delete the old ones when you get around to it.
