Hi there, I have a VPN server and the license is cpxp-vpx-250-ngx cpvp-vsr-250-ngx. From what I understand, it should be a Express version. But in my smartdashboard, it is configured as Checkpoint Enterprise/Pro. And it's working fine too. And looks like the license does include Policy server at all and the function is also working fine. My question is what's the different between Express and Pro? Do i need a license for Policy server in Express?

The difference from a SmartCenter standpoint is SVM (SmartView Monitor). Policy server is included in all NGX SmartCenters (Or maybe gateways I forget). It is only needed for SecureClient

Policy server is required for SecureClient to push the desktop security policy. There contains two license strings, 1. SecureClient License 2. Policy Server license when you generate the license for SecureClient. Express is just a bundle of different license of CP Products = VPN-1, SecuRemote, Cluster-XL(HA ready). It does not make no difference if you have an "Express" license on a "VPN-1 Pro installation" gateway. There are several limitation on Express like number of max concurrent session...
