I need to delete a central license from an R55 SmartCenter for a now non-existent enforcement module. It failed and was replaced by an Edge. I can't detach it because it can't talk to the gateway and CP support says it's not possible to delete it without a working gateway. I'm having a little difficulty believing this, frankly. Could this possibly be true and if not, how would you do this? I have NOT yet deleted the Check Point gateway object, although it's not used anywhere. Thanks, Ray

Rayden is right. If you delete the object from within SmartDashboard, it will come up "detaching license" or something similar for a little while, then eventually it gives up on that, and marks the license as detached in SmartUpdate. I've done it several times. That is appalling support from Check Point - they should know better than that. I'm fairly certain you could also use GuiDBedit to mark the license as detached.

Yep, that worked perfectly. Thanks to both of you. It *seemed* to me that it should work that way, but I don't like making changes that could prove, uh, "bad", even with backups available. Ray
