licence question

hello

well, i'm going to buy a checkpoint firewall for my users (1000, so i will use licence with unlimited users)

i have a contract with this :
CPPWR-VPG-U Check Point VPN-1 Power Gateway for Unlimited Users
CPPWR-SMDF-U Check Point SmartDefense Service for VPN-1 Power Gateway Unlimited Users Annual Subscription

there is no checkpoint product actually or past in my company
i don't know why i don't have a licence for a management server, like this reference CPPWR-CKP-5-U

i want to know if i can administer my firewall (with smartconsole) with such a licence (CPPWR-VPG-U) ?

currently, in the usercenter website :
- i have the Company Name and the Account ID created
- i have a product CPPWR-VPG-U with a certificate key, Not Licensed Yet, no IP

I'd probably recommend calling Check Point regarding this one (972-444-6600). The licensing division is almost always available when I call and very capable at deciphering which CPVP-CPMP-VFF-VEE-VFM-VSI-CPIS-INT-HVPG-U-5-VSO-VSC-VIG-1000 code means what.

I can say that CPPWR-VPG-U should have a "License" link to the right of it that you can click on and then create a license for that product. If I had to guess CPPWR-VPG-U stands for Check Point VPN-1 Power - VPN-1 Floodgate - Unlimited [users], so a firewall license. I believe Management licenses have a MGMT in them.

What you want is a CPPWR-CKP-5-U + SMDF and Support. If your reseller sold you something different it was wrong, make them fix it.
