confusion abt licensing the evaluation copy

hi all i am new to checkpoint. i just got my evaluation copy from checkpoint. in the documentation they have mentioned that on the back of the cd there is a certificate key which is have to put in my user account and then checkpoint will generate the license key for it. they say that the evaluation copy is valid for 15 days i thought it was for 30 days. they said there is way by which we can increase the evaluation period. does anyone know the procedure. can someone pls clear my doubt.

hi . i have one more query that. i have got my cd today. but say if i want to use it after a month probably do a lot of reading before working on it. can i do that. i mean the evaluation perios starts from the day of installing right and not from the day when u get the cd.

This is the way it currently appears to work: when you install, you automatically get a free 15-day license which turns on everything, although I've heard that sometimes (educational version of the CD?) Management HA is not enabled. This 15-day evaluation license doesn't require anything more than just installing the product.

I believe you can also get a special key that you can use at UserCenter to register and get a 30-day evaluation license which I think does turn everything on. I've also heard that this 30-day evaluation license can be renewed for an additional 30 day period.

hi barry thanks a lot man. u mean to say for installing the prodeuct i have to log in my user center at checkpoint website. then they will generate the license key for it right. then i can extend the evaluation copy for 30 days . one more doubt i heard in checkpoint the license key is binded to a ip address. so the license key will be binded to which ip address i am not getting this part. and after 30 days can i format the hard disk and do a fresh install with the same key. eagerly waiting fo ur reply. see ya and thanks once again .
