can we re-install the evaluation copy

hi all i am new to checkpoint i have just registered with checkpoint to get my vpn-1 ngx evaluation copy. i want to know that after 30 days of evaluation period . can i format the hard-disk and re-install and use the it again. or do i have to buy a new evaluation copy after 30 days. pls help me out.

If you use Certificate Key from CP CD to generate your license, you can activate it two times. But you can use not relevant date (valid for your license) on module and smartcenter. All above-listed information is correct only for clean installation. If you export files from your SC after 30 day, and try to import it to new system, it doesn't work.

hi buddy thanks. i mean after 30 days say i want to do a total fresh install and start from scratch. by formatting the hard disk and re-installing the firewall again. then how times can i use the copy then. thank u . waiting for ur reply eagerly. see ya

IMHO, you can use it forever :)
Install fresh CP, set valid date for license, install policy from SC to module, use 30 days, install fresh CP, set valid date... etc.

hi buddy thanks a lot. it's good to hear that i can re-use the cd again and again for practise. so all i have to do is re-install the cd and set the valid date means when i get the checkpoint license it will be associated with a date . so everytime i re-install the cd i have use the same date or a new date.

pls also tell me after i get the product where do i get the license to activate the product do i have to get it from checkpoint or it comes in the cd itself.

one more thing (install policy from SC to module) what do u mean by this. i am sorry to ask u so many question and all silly questions but i am new to chekpoint i have worked on it thanks for ur patience once again.

If you bought CD, you can see Certification Key on back side CD box. You can add product in your CP account menu Accounts & Products->Add Products. I think after that you take trial license. Sorry but i never use CD certification key for getting license :)

Your trial license for module begins from date when you activate SIC if i remember correctly.

hi buddy thanks a lot. as u said the module will work for 30days from the date of activation the license key . so after 30 days when i re-install the cd . will i have to give a new dator or the same date on which the product was first installed. which date should be used for re-installing again.can u help me . thank u once again for all ur help.

I confused one thing about that "trial license for module begins from date when you activate SIC". It's correct for 15-day trial license. I read about it in one thread in this forum by Lackie, I think.
About 30-days license information is correct, I hope :)

Set day of license's activation, it's more simple way. But interesting thing... If we'll set date one year ealier, for example, should be license valid one year? Really it's interesting because in license we have clear text expiration date only.

I am having 30 days trial license. It can be used any number of times as long as the system date is the same for which it is valid. e.g if its valid from 1/1/2005 to 31/1/2005 then your system date should be the same even if you install it now.

But one information I need, I have got two licenses, one for smart center server and other for the Enforcement module, can I use the same enforcement module license for multiple enforcement modules.
