Default "No License for VPN"

Hi All,

We installed one Secure Platform R60 with NGX. While configuring VPN with and interoperable device, we are getting "NO LICENSE FOR VPN" error in Checkpoint Tracker. Pls guide me in resolving this issue. Is that anything to o with License.

Regards,

Sunil

Hi

Have had a similar issue.
Is this the first time that you have enabled VPN?
Does your licence.lic file have DES / 3DES specified in the string?
Have you enabled any VPN settings?

Check your licence.lic file. You should have des / 3des listed in it.

Have you stopped and restarted CP yet to see? Not positive about this, but after the first time you enable the VPN checkbox, it creates a internal_ca, which then may require a cpstop cpstart.

Let us know what happens.
I've played with my licences...moved it around. Found one with 3des. Error message no more.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. This is teh first time i enabled VPN. We are using Secureplatform standalon setup in which the firewall and Management station are intalled in the same machine. I am ablle to see 2 licenses in the Smartupdate one for Module and one for Management station. There is no 3DES in the license attached to the module but it is there in the license attached to the managemnet station. I have tried the Simple mode site-site VPN with a Cisco Router. Is it a problem with license ?

pls update me

regards,

Sunil

You need a VPN license installed onto the firewall.
