Default NGX vs NG AI

I have a customer who has purchased a Nokia firewall running NGX R60. They want me to manage it with my NG AI management console. I know this won't work. I have asked them to load NG AI R54 which they have but, I can not attach the license cpxp-vpx-250 ng. Do they need to provide me with a different license key. thanks

What error do you get when you try and attach the license?

Do they know if it's an NG or an NGX license?

Looks like an NGX license cpxp-vpx-250-ng. I have attached it (SmartUpdate) to the firewall which is running NG AI Build 315. When I try to fetch policy from my NG AI SmartCenter, I receive the following message:

Warning: Can't find ::CPXP-VPX-250-NG in cp.macro. License version might be not
compatible
Failed to read database.
Probably module was never installed

NGX licenses will not work on NG. Have to contact CP to have them change the license back to NG.

I know that the answer is comming too late but it could help others at least.

Your features string CPXP-VPX-250-NG is definitely an NG license (NGX version has NGX string at the end) but it is an "Express" license type (the string CPXP) which was a new licensing scheme introduced after releasing the NG AI R54. To be able to use the NG FP3 and NG AI R54 versions with the Express licenses you must install the Check Point Express hotfix. The newer releases (NG AI R55, R55W, NGX R60 etc.) recognize the Express licenses natively.
