Default Back to CheckPoints!!

Just wanted to introduce myself. I've worked with CheckPoint's since the 3.0 days. Various platforms, including Windows, Solaris, and now Nokia's... I worked in depth with previous versions up to 4.0, but then took a position as an ISO, thus leaving the tech side of things and moving more into policy and procedures...

However I grew bored of that and just recently moved back into a tech position as a Network Security Analyst for a division of Fiserv. My main duty now is firewall management, and some router/switching stuff here and there when others in the department need a hand. Have about a dozen or so firewalls to manage between our Ciscos and CheckPoints. My 4 Nokia IPSO's are my babies though. However, as referenced a little above, I am new to the NGX and AI platforms.. So I have a bit to pick back up again..

But in short, glad to be back in the tech seat again! Looking forward to conversing with those here, learning a bit, and lending a helping hand where I can...

Like said I just moved into this position, so don't worry I will clean up the below mess.. But for your viewing pleasure...

Welcome back! It looks pretty to me. The IP530 was the first Nokia I ever managed.

It's definitely cleaner than most of our equipment. Our server guys do the sloppiest racking I have ever seen. None of them take pride in their work. However the two people previous to me that managed our firewalls, and IDS equipment, which is in the same rack... Did a much better job than anyone else at keeping things clean... Still, I want it cleaner... I'm very picky.. :)

Try putting them in a rack behind a smoked glass door. I find that works well. :-)

Hi Rokudan,

I'm planning on the opposite, moving into the security policy and procedures arena :-)

I've been working with checkpoint on nokia for about 16 months now.
