Default Hello Everyone

I am a new comer to check point. I have purchased 2 IP330 for my home lab. I would like to learn everything possible at checkpoint. I have successfully installed IPSO3.9 on one of my IP330's. I am having trouble with installing the software on my Window 2003 server, also I think something else is supposed to install on my checkpoint ip330. Thanks in advance for any help that would be be greatly appreciated.

Thats great if you are so much intrested in exploring the things, I really appreciate.
But go in a proper manner you will learn a lot regarding Nokia and Checkpoint.
This is very good combination for a corporate solution.
Well I would suggest you to , go to Nokia site and download a book, so that you can learn about Nokia Voyager. Then Download another book that will help you to instalation and configuration for the IPSO image on Nokia box.
Then download the Checkpoint wrapper for Nokia IPSO and then with the help of the help guide install the Checkpoint software on Nokia box and confiure it and also get a Checkpoint book fron Checkpoint site.
First read these books carefully , understand the architecture after that start working on the boxes.
Keep asking the question I will help you in all the ways.

Cheers!!!!
Ranjit

Hi there,

Firewall-1 has 2 main modules and then the GUI:
1 - FW Module
2 - Management Module (SmartCenter)
3 - GUI

From here you have stand-alone deployments, where 1 and 2 are on the same box, and distributed deployments, where they are on different machines.
The GUI can be anywhere, usually on the administrator's workstation and will connect to the Management module.

You need to decide how you want to install and then go through the motions. Your best learning scenario will probably be a distributed one:
- Install only the firewall module on both IP330s
- Install management and GUI on the W2K3 box

Then you can play with creating a cluster and using VRRP, etc.
