Explaination of NGX modules for newbie

Hi all,
I want to upgrade my current config from (Mgmt = Win2000Server, Enforcement = Solaris) to (Mgmt=Win2003 Server with two enforcement modules running SecureLinux in HA)
My problem is that I don't really understand the different modules that come with NGX and what they do exactly and if I really need each one.
I cannot find any document that trully describes the functiona of each module.
Can anyone help a newbie become a master ?

Management module AKA SmartCenter -- This is "Master" information store and control point for other Check Point devices. One SmartCenter is required.

Enforcement module/point AKA Firewall/VPN Gateway -- This is the part device that routes and inspects trafic, applying the Check Point policies needed

GUI or SMART Clients -- The programs to allow security administrators to interact with the SmartCenter
