Hi all, I cant seem to get my gateway module running with the trial license in a distributed environment, SIC is “Trusted” but when I push the policy it fails and says the module has no license , both the smart center and the gateway are fresh installs, in smart update the smart center has the 15 day trial but the gateway says 0 licenses… Any good ideas. I set it up just as the CCSE student book said. About 15 times!! :P

Check for any unattached licenses. You should have one for the firewall. Try right-clicking on the firewall object in SmartUpdate and see if there is an option to Attach a license. Sorry, I don't remember the exact steps to attach licenses because it's done so infrequently. I *thought* that simply installing the gateway gave it an automatic 15-day eval license, with the 15 day clock starting from the moment SIC was established with it. Ray

What does the command "cplic print" say from the CLI on the management and gateway? I think the eval starts when the software is installed, regardless of sic. Might want to check and make sure both servers have the same date & time. __________________ Its all in the documentation.
