Default SPLAT and > 4GB RAM?

I have a new SPLAT box (Dell 2950III) with 8Gb of RAM. When I issue the command

grep MemTotal /proc/meminfo
MemTotal: 8305396 kB
RawMemTotal: 9175040 kB

I can see all 8Gb of RAM, but in SmartView Monitor I only see 3.92Gb of RAM (Total Real Memory). Is this a limitation of Checkpoint to utilize >4Gb of RAM? A 32Bit vs 64Bit thing?

I'm running R65/2.6

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks

Checkpoint can handle more than 4 GB of memory even in 32 bit mode. It's most likely a cosmetic issue in Monitor.

It can handle it, but on a gateway it doesn't buy you anything as the firewall kernel is limited to 2 GB.

On a SmartCenter or Eventia, it a different story, they can make a use of all the memory you stuff into them.

Is that true of the new 2.6 version also?

AFAIK it is. On a 32bit OS, you are limited to 2 GB of memory for a kernel process.
