| Hi, I am new at the Sun and checkpoint and trying to learn as fast as I can but do not have a lot of time. Our firewall/vpn started rebooting last week. At first it rebooted once a day but lately it is rebooting like 3 times a day. I am trying to help to find the cause of it but not sure where to start. Here is some info from the server: #fw ver This is Check Point VPN-1(TM) & FireWall-1(R) NGX (R60) - Build 458 #fwm ver This is Check Point SmartCenter Server NGX (R60) - Build 387 #uname -a SunOS sol9 5.9 Generic_118558-25 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-V240 Can someone guide me where to start looking for the problem? As per Sun support it is not the hardware problem. As far as I can tell, we do not have any HFA's installed - could this be the problem? If yes then can someone provide the help with installing the HFA? Thanks, Jack. |

| Thanks for the reply. It looks like we had a problem with one of the new rules added to the the firewall. We went back in time, loaded the backup that was 2 weeks old and now everything seams to be fine. However I still think that we have to install the Hot fixes because we keep getting msgs on the console like: fw: cpas_tcp_pass_data: asked to transfer xx bytes ... which seams to be fixed by the HFA... Can anyone point me to the document that explains how to do it? Also wanted to ask where to check how often is the log being changed. Sometimes the msg on the console says that the log is full. Thanks, Y. |
